I don't know if it has been fixed recently, but 2015 era Time Machine can create more files and hard links that HFS+ can handle. It will progressively slow down and and then destroy the backup. Apple's Disk Utility can not repair a backup that has failed from having too many files and hard links.

The options that I know of are:

* Constrain the backup size so Time Machine is forced to clean up. If it's a NAS, set a size limit on the backup mount.
* Switch to a new backup image whenever it's too slow. Manually delete old backup images as needed.
* Use a different backup tool.

Is one USB-A and the other USB-C? I can't remember what years they upgraded to them. That would make a difference. But why not just leave it running all the time? I do, most people do.

My point exactly. I am not able to understand how easy it was for some people to hate so much. I def liked some more than the others but overall enjoyed every one in some way. They were all a good lot and I will miss them. I hope those who received u just hate will have it in their heart to forgive the haters.

They are Reliable and Mostly run on Time... You need to be Aware of the Bus Number and Route or Check it Online first... Service is Slower and a Little Inconsistent on Weekends and Holidays...
