Bengaluru has really amazing people if we ignore the 2% scum.For example -

1.There have been many kind people( strangers) who have dropped my son over the years to his tennis coaching /tournaments when I am stuck at work or in the rain or sick.We are not that rich to afford a cab every day when I can't drive .

2. There are people in our neighbourhood who have crowd sponsored my kids expensive kits and trips over the years, without me asking, as they know my financial status and my kid is quite passionate and good at the sport and if God willing has the talent ..Tennis is a very expensive sport which I wasn't aware initially with little exposure beyond Cricket and Football.

3 Am amazed at the kindness you often see on Bangalore roads with people helping strangers you can't expect anywhere else .

4. I am well educated but not very smart in the ways of the world ..I have never shied away from asking for advice and trust me people have always tried to understand me and gone the extra length to course correct me if I am lost.

5.I have noticed even rowdies in my locality never interfere or disturb my kid even if he is out practising till 11 pm, as probably I think they realise he wants to do something they did not have a chance to or their inherent kindness.

6. I have always been included in any major discussion in my locality without any bias ..

Many many things more, but why am telling this is, because I am not a localite or native from Karnataka .I am from UP but Bangalore is the place I call home as it has helped me earn a dignified clean livelihood, otherwise I would have rotted in some obscure place of the world.

I have till date never been treated in an undignified way, based on my financial worth typical for North Indian society.

So my love for Bangaluru cannot be measured .And my gratitude to the city and its amazing people will never end in this lifetime.

I know the younger generation has a critical eye, but people like me can only thank my stars for having landed in Bangalore travelling in an unreserved train apartment to get here,sitting beside the train toilet, with only 200 Rs in the pocket and getting all the love and kindness from the city.In fact when I landed and ran out of money after a few meals it was a restaurant owner who provided me free food and shelter for several days till I landed my first job as an office assistant ..I still make it a point to touch his feet almost every other day .
