I moved from OneDrive to iCloud in 2020. OneDrive was terrible for the way I used it because it was so slow to sync. In my work flow, I needed to go back and forth with a Word document between my Mac and my iPad. (I used the iPad for ink annotations using the Apple Pencil.) What I wanted was to save the file I was creating on the Mac, open it on the iPad, draw on it, save it again, and reopen it on the Mac to continue writing. This worked great on DropBox, but it got too expensive, so I moved to OneDrive (free since I already paid for Office 365). Sometimes it would work, but often OneDrive would take several minutes to sync the file. Sometimes, it wouldn’t sync at all and would just get stuck in the queue. Quite often, the only way it would sync was to drag the file out of OneDrive onto my desktop, let OneDrive delete it, then drop it back to its original folder. It was a hot mess. Finally, when I replaced my last Windows system with Mac, I moved everything to iCloud and it has worked perfectly ever since.

Crawlers aren't small - they will follow links for months and keep moving them from follow list to follow list, and will query every sub folder they find for any and all files - thats how Google finds documents like PDFs, Xls, Images etc

They dont process content - they just cut html up and put them into different parsers (like for ranking, snippet building) but one thing they're not and thats "smart"
