I don't know what can be done here. In my arrogant opinion these deals usually work on initial agreements, whatever deal you cut with them. You can talk with them but I highly doubt they would care to listen, the only thing you can do is walk out.

OP, before trying to fix her career, talk to her and understand whether she is going through some trauma from the past. 3 pregnancies, 3 kids, 1 accident - these are no joke. That equates to three post partum depression phases and 1 post traumatic stress...

And doom scrolling after school ? May be she had a busy morning prepping the 3 kids for school? Packing their lunch? Waking them up?
You have not mentioned whether she has help for all these from you or someone else...

If she does all these by herself, then she can very well call it a day and rest before her second shift of handling the kids in the evening start...

If you are truly concerned about her emotional well being, pls try to help her have a hobby that would reduce her screen time. Stop forcing her into a career that will add more stress to her life

Life makes us learn in different ways, and in the future, you'll project that confidence and conviction in upfront negotiations and just the experience of having done something like this provides future rewards even if they are currently downplayed
