Depending on the type of client, I’ll usually let them go. I’m a solo consultant so I don’t have the mental energy to deal with roadblocks like this (cause if results aren’t coming in, that’s still on you).

I rather work with clients fully invested from that start. And that’s also on me to let them know exactly what I’m proposing at the start of any engagement. Any client who wants to continue will be fully aware of the changes I’m recommending.

If I’m still facing a roadblock, I’ll usually end the engagement and free that space up for a more invested client.
