Rs. 50k per month qualifies you to be of a middle class however if you are living in a tier 1 or 2 city it has to be 50k for every individual in the family.

Eg. Husband, wife and one child: family income should be 1.5 L per month post tax to qualify as middle class. (Income wise only)

Networth wise you should be between 50L (lower) to 2 Cr (upper) to qualify in middle class.
