I’am a son of farmer. My dad did not even involve me in farming saying there is no life here. My father made me study in good schools and colleges and guess what, I was studying on loaned money all the time, under constant pressure and guess what the crop you invested a lot in and worked really hard for 3 to 6 months is not even in your control. All it takes is one flood or cyclone and loop of suffering continues.

There is no stability in farming. My dad is strong mentally even with losses he could keep pushing forward. But his friend also farmer contemplated on suiciding because of the loans and losses due to farming.

Farmers want to get out of that instability of not making enough money to make their life better and constantly under fear. No one wants to choose farming. It’s like punishing yourself. Thats the hard reality. When farmer themselves gave up land hoping their life would get better, who are we. ?

250 sq.kms does not do much damage instead it will help all the families and nearby land owners in the future. Let them get out that struggle of farming.

You can always import what you want when you are getting better ROI other ways. There are many bottlenecks in our farming style and land holdings(small parcels of lands) and on top of that farmer laws also got held back which would have helped the farmer.
