Whoa whoa whoa! Slow down there, as I think you're getting the wrong advice from what people are saying! They aren't saying your MVP has to be "Crappy", but what they are saying is that your MVP doesn't need to be "Perfect" because if you're chasing perfection, then it is literally something that will never come, and your idea of perfect is probably different than the market's or your customer's idea of perfect.

The whole idea of the MVP, or even the newer version I've heard where it's MTP (Minimum Testable Product), is that you want to build as little as possible to test your theory or idea. If you can make an argument that looking crappy means that people will be scared off by the terrible user experience, then that is a perfectly reasonable assumption to TEST, not just blindly assume. So if you can get away with it being crappy, try that, and if you think it's the looks or UX/UI that might have caused your hypothesis to be false, then you can take it to the next step and make it nicer.

Building is cheap if you don't have to finetune the underlying model(s). Prompt engineering and building Agentic system are straight forward. You can get a could of university students and they will build it for you.
