I think what he said at least stands 100% true for games.

Most games nowadays expect you to pay and at the same time they can take away your access to it at any time.

Heck there are times when literal single player games are killed just because the publisher wants it. That's one place where an actual physical copy of a game is better because sony/square enix/ubisoft atleast won't break into your house to get your copy of the game.
