If the budget can be managed to provide them all, then why not? because you want clean air (rightfully so) doesn't mean that you should attack something that's also beneficial to a lot of people (indirectly to local economy too). Yeah, I want clean air and free electricity, water too. And if people can afford to pay for them, there should be a option for opting out of subsidy and paying the bill fully.

7% of population file ITR and among those a-lot of them are filed with nil income tax just to convert some money to white or build profile in income tax department to avoid scrutiny when properties are bought under their names.
So the actual number of people that pay direct tax is 2-3%.
This is what i keep telling everyone, if you don’t make black money or are not running a business exploiting the gaps in the system and you don’t have any connections which can help you from the system in some way or the other then the country isn’t for you.

The issue for us folks is that the we aren’t the majority and we are doubly taxed or even more and our votes doesn’t matter much because the majority is of the category that want these free stuff which will eventually decide who comes to power. So this is just a vicious cycle which will just cripple the honest tax paying individual.

This one guy made a post on how he went to America and came back to Chennai and he couldn't believe that we got metro.
