These incidents are so common in Madurai and the defaulters never take accountability it pisses me off so much. Ever since they built that bridge things have only gotten worse. DePaul is a great school for them because, at least back in my day, it had a really diverse student body with international students from places like Korea, Thailand, the Maldives, and lots of NRIs from the UK, US, etc. It’s much easier to fit in there compared to a typical Indian school.

That said, it’s still a Catholic school at its core, even though it presents itself as international. If you’re fine with that, then great! But if not, just be mindful that the values they emphasise—especially around guilt and shame—can leave a lasting impression. Even now, I catch myself unpacking some of that “catholic guilt” years after leaving, despite not even being Christian. 😅
