Bruv I'm still facing this shit in the office. Everyone's like your father must be rich and own a business right, why do you wanna do this job. So to fuck around I say I like to know how my servants feel which is why

1) The advertised city-view restaurants usually don’t live up to the hype. Better find a calm cafe in Gokulam or surrounding areas, as they are usually cozy, have good food+ambience. There are so many of them. No suggestions as I personally haven’t tried any. SaPa bakery is good but it gets crowded.

2) If you want amazing dosa, go to Agrahara Mylari Hotel. The one near the zoo is good, but this one’s better. If you like eggs, there’s a food cart called Egg Palace near The Institute of Engineers on JLB road (mention spice tolerance). For authentic veg South Indian food, TKS Iyengar, or Sandhya’s House. For authentic non-veg food, RRR Hotel (they even have another subsidiary called Annapoorna after Aishwarya petrol bunk signal, so good!) or Tegu’s Mess or Devi Hotel. Not familiar with the breweries but The Barge was amazing the last time I’d been which was some 6 years ago.

3) My personal favourite way to explore Chamundi betta is from the stairway side. It’s a little long but good exercise. You can either go up the stairs (a 30min hike if you’re fit, 1h if you can just manage) or take the jungle path which leads to the Ashoka Vana from where you can walk up the road. It’s slightly longer but definitely less crowded than the stairs. I prefer this route personally because of the views along the way (Take the street which goes left from the parking lot past the ayyappa temple on the left, keep walking til you reach a broken fence. Climb through it and you’ll find the jungle path). Start early like 5:45-6am if you don’t want to be drenched in sweat. Finish temple visit and looking around, take the bus back to City bus stand. Or take the stairs again. Not as challenging to climb down. But be careful as the stairs are uneven and can be slippery. A ritual that many locals follow is either going to GTR (Gayatri Tiffin Room) or Mylari hotel for Dosa and filter coffee after coming back from an early morning Chamundi betta visit.

4) Guru sweets is the OG. Worth a visit, but try out Shree Vaishnavi Sweets’ Mysore pak. Slice of heaven! Mahalakshmi sweets used to be good, but after becoming a franchise, it sucks. There’s a new place called World of Mysore Pak or something which is just a decked up lame excuse. Don’t fall for it if anyone suggests it.
