India’s new central bank governor cut interest rates for the first time in almost five years on Friday to help spur a slowing economy as global risks intensify.

The Reserve Bank of India’s six-member monetary policy committee, chaired by Governor Sanjay Malhotra, voted unanimously to lower the benchmark repurchase rate by 25 basis points to 6.25%, the first cut since May 2020. Most of the 44 economists in a Bloomberg survey predicted the move.

All committee members also voted to retain the monetary policy stance as neutral, indicating the central bank’s cautious approach on the rate trajectory going forward. The cool thing is, that by not taxing these billionaires to hell, multi-billionaires can exhaust the legal system forever and never be held accountable, and then counter sue everyone, buy the judges, buy the jury if there were one and then blast off to Mars if they were even close to being held accountable. And meanwhile, we deal with substandard infrastructure, low wages, no benefits, inflation, failing social programs. Capitalism! What could go wrong!?
