OP, when I was 20 I was like u. I was a topper in school, but once I reached college I lost all interest to study especially mechanical engineering. I felt like a loser everyday as I just absolutely hated the subject. I told my father I will drop this course. He said he will get me a decent job through his friends and his only request was for me to clear without arrears. I suffered from depression and was just going through life.

Joined a IIM. Now I am 29, have I succeeded in life? No. I am earning okayish but no longer I feel the lack of purpose. I went through lots of ups and downs but trust me op, you will find your path.
