My parents came to Delhi from Bihar. We stay in a flat that was bought by my father. Most often we get these requests from my native place that they are coming. This is ridiculous to help so many of them, especially when it's 3 BHK and we are four people. I have extremely bad experience with one such relative who came in and started flirting with me. I have few friends in my life who have stable, happy marriages. The key is to find someone whose morals, values, virtues and beliefs align with yours. If there is strong compatibility between two people then marriage can be a rewarding experience. The problem I see with "some" marriages (especially in the arranged circuit) is that it is based on materialistic, transactional, carnal or superficial values - like wealth, status, assets, appearance, etc. Those things are all okay, but they are all transient things which are prone to change, and if those things are your top (only) priority then don't expect compatibility or warmth or affection or friendship or fidelity to blossom between two people. So a lot of marriages suffer because people get married for the wrong reasons.

If you can find someone in life who has the right values that align with your own then marriage can be a great blessing. But before you get there make sure you are someone worth marrying - like make yourself the best version of yourself in every way possible and then seek someone who can add value to your life. I am not saying it is easy to find the right person but good people (healthy relationships) do exist.
