Apart from the opposition from the unions, the Motor Vehicles Act was also an impediment. You can’t ply or use a vehicle to ply another pax commercially on a white number plate vehicle. And bikes don’t have yellow number plate and most of them are reluctant to apply for yellow plates. Also this will require an amendment in the act to allow yellow plated bikes. States allowing it are doing it in contravention of this act and will stop the day courts take it up proactively. Another thing during insurance claim, if they find out you were plying the bike commercially, you claim will be rejected. It’s better to first bring an amendment to the Act and then think about licensing this.
