I agree with all the points and I thought the movie was mediocre the first time I watched it and the characters didn't have much depth to them but...

1. Aditi accepted the fact that this is how it is with Bunny. She had lost all hope. She was just surprised and happy to see her old friend at her wedding who she thought wouldn't come. That's why she didn't fight or argue.

2. Naina's character was just shallow. She was in a talking phase with Rana Daggubati's character and was flirting non-stop with Bunny at the same time. Maybe the first love which almost has the intensity of a teenage crush isn't so easy to forget. That's why she was drooling again. But still it doesn't change the fact that it was lazy writing.

3. Bunny's stepmom was always nice to him but he never accepted her as his mother for apparent reasons, but after the death of his father, I guess they could relate in terms of grief and Bunny, too, was more mature or maybe he realised they have each other now. Could be anything. It's a movie after all.

4. Avi, as you have mentioned, was the only believable character. And, Ayan Mukerji, in an interview mentioned that Avi is his favourite character too because he is such a good friend. He just wanted to spend some time with Bunny. There is one instance in the movie after the pillow fight scene, Bunny asks Avi what he can do to make up. Avi replies, nothing, just have a drink with me.

5. And, about his father's funeral, it was unfortunate how he couldn't attend it considering the circumstances. It was, I think, evident in the movie that Bunny was, in fact, held some guilt over it. So, it works I guess. After all, it's just fiction.
