Settle and get married.. during initial stage of marriage, cash flow was less with me, so couldn't enjoy well. Thought after 2 or 3 years can live life, after 2 years got kid, Covid hit, now the situation is better but couldn't enjoy with the children routine.
Maybe plan everything and yet it might go out of hand. Don't compare with other couples. Not every person is same. What works for other might not work for u.
Marriage is just a ceremony. Living together is the hardest part. My cousins had gone abroad only for sake of marriage and now I see them chasing penny, coming from a well to do family, it would have been other way around here. Only because girl was raised abroad, so wanted to live the same life. If the other person comes from better financial family then maintaining the same spending life is hard. Even small small things affects the daily life. If living as joint family then the issue will be much more.

Compromising by both party is the main factor in marriage. Understand and respect each other emotions, financial status, work life, hobbies and interests, future plans, likes and dislike etc.
