Please seek professional help. A good psychiatrist/ therapist may be able to help if your suffering from depression or other psychological issues. 


Has your thesis problem been defined? Have you taken the required courses, and identified areas where you need to learn more? Have you spoken to your advisor about these issues? 


Is your relatively with your advisor good? Are you having problems in the lab?


Don't fall for the sunk cost fallacy. If you really think you've tried all possible options and are unable to fish phd for whatever reason, cut your losses and find a job. You should be able to even leverage your being enrolled in a prestigious phd program while seeking jobs. Be upfront about wanting to quit phd and work on whatever industry you want to work in. 


If, on the other hand you think you're really interested in the scientific problem you're working on, identify the issues holding you back, and work on them. The list at the top of my comment might be of help.

I am an outsider too but I have lot of marathi frnds. Moreover, many people are here are good. But most marathi who are liberal in thought will live with anyone including north Indian. Conservative marathi are good but are difficult. Thats with every state I guess.
Live in Posh area and u dont have an issue, butbif u choose to live in not so modern areas then somehow more adjustment needed.
