If you are travelling frequently, I would suggest you consider Neelambur. You can avoid the Coimbatore traffic and time to Tirupur City (old bus stand) is approx 45 to 60mins. If your office / business is much before the city then you would be able to save 10 to 20mins. I travel occasionally and it takes me 25mins to cross high-way (@80 to 100kms/hr)

If you take a residence in the city, you may find your travel time doubling (~90 to 120mins) due to traffic. These days, high traffic is usually between 7.30AM to 10.30AM and 5.30PM to 9.30PM, weekend night traffic maybe be much longer.
