I am having the same issues. My computer will reindex endlessly. I think the spotlight works okay for MacOS but I use Outlook for Mac and my emails will not come up during a search. I just called Apple today and all they could recommend is to reinstall MacOS. I have two M3 iMacs and both of them are doing the exact same thing so it can't just be me.

1- You should be looking to pay a good SEO guy to do an audit and then realistically charge you for what needs to be done. You will see a lot of guys saying we charge x amount/month and we do onsite and 4 blogs in this package which is absolutely worst way to do SEO.

2- You are paying as per the expertise of the freelancer or agency so there is no right answer - anywhere from 500 to 10,000 maybe more or less.

3- SEO takes time - true but that you will see encouraging results overtime each month. That would help you understand if the hire person is worthy or not.

Get your own trademark lawyer to take a quick look at the situation.  Different countries have different rules. Some names are more trademarkable than others. You may have a case for infringement against them and may want to consider trying to demand they stop whatever they’re doing. Definitely get a lawyer’s advice.

Do you have a presence going with the current name, like having built a brand? And do you have financials to spend if ROI is low? If I were you, I would not spend helfty money on the name if my startup is pretty new because I might want to rebrand my startup later.
