moving abroad
| so people that are planning to move abroad, what made you decision in the first place and how's the plan going? |
I want to leave for the below reasons.
In India basically one of 2 things happen:
1. The government completely ignores a problem and the people suffer due to it.
2. The government does something nice once in a while and the people misuse it. For example littering everywhere like even in new trains when people travel the whole coach is littered with trash, following no traffic rules even if the road is good and has enough space for everyone to move smoothly.
India as a country has reached it's peak. Sure the GDP numbers will keep growing, in a decade we may even be 10 trillion dollar economy and the GDP per capita may improve a little too but none of this growth will have any effect on the common man's life.
Back in the 2000s when I was growing up I was facing issues with rain water stagnation in my roads, I was facing littering in the street corners, dirty roads etc.
Since the 2000s our economic numbers have grown a lot but I'm still facing rain water stagnation in my roads, I was facing littering in the street corners, dirty roads etc.
Note that I'm not expecting a change in 5-10 years. It's been over 20 years and still it's all the same.
5 years ago I decided complaining and whining about this won't help anyone so I decided to be the change. I made it a point to never throw even a chocolate wrapper on the road, every small piece of trash has to be thrown in the dustbin, I started reading up on traffic laws and made it a point to follow traffic rules no matter what.
I didn't expect everyone to change like this but I was hoping I could see atleast 3-4 people in public who follow the rules like I do but till this date I haven't.
If I talk about this with anyone I get asked "Nee ena peraya parupa, nee rules follow pana elarum pananuma, nee elara vidavum better nu nenachitu irukiya" apdi nu kekaranga (translation: who are you to ask us to follow rules? If you follow, it doesn't mean we have to follow too. You think you're better than everyone").
I just want to go anywhere else. Foreign countries won't be heaven, there will be problems there too but I just can't deal with the problems in India anymore. I will run the first chance I get. -
What's that one thing you thought you'll never do to your children that your parents did to you ?
Oh god, do you want a whole list? Off the top of my head, I’d avoid:
- comparing them with their siblings or friend’s kids.
- not trusting them to have any freedom whatsoever.
- not having an interest in talking to them about anything meaningful.
- fighting and yelling in front of them (or at them).
- never apologizing when something wrong is done to them by parents.
- treating two kids differently, especially kids of opposite gender.
- questioning and always doubting their decisions.
- never listening to their suggestions or opinions.
- conveniently forgetting saying or doing something that hurt them (on top of not apologizing)
- projecting my trauma onto them
- criticizing them for something they can’t change (being shy, body type, etc.)
- having unrealistic expectations of them
- putting my own thoughts and beliefs onto them, expecting them to not go against it.
- not letting them make their own decisions when they are older, always treating them like a child that doesn’t know anything.
- demanding respect without having to earn it, but expecting them to earn everything (respect, acceptance, etc). -

A talk on nature of Consciousness between neuroscientists and Advaita Vedantin
The speakers discuss meditation and mystical experiences, examining their influence on our understanding of consciousness. They cover key topics such as the potential of meditation to alter consciousness, the nature of **qualia**, and the profound realisations stemming from deep meditation.
And as usual, Swami Sarvapriyananda was exceptional. [https://sciwizlive.com/](https://sciwizlive.com/) -
JD Vance calls Elon Musk’s piece praising far-right German party AfD ‘interesting’
Dude really had the gall to post on Twitter "im not endorsing any party..BUT" when discussing elmos op-ed
The second you hit post and gave them attention in anything but a negative light was when you pretty much endorsed them, literal nazi's btw even Marine Le pen felt they were too extreme and cut ties with them -

West Bengal amongst top 5 inter-state migrant destination hotspots- Working paper of Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) on migration trends 2024.
So UP tops in both as source and destination? Is that what this means? That would be hilarious (I mean it's understandable given the size and population and the location of Delhi). -
Had taped something to my Ferrari & now the remaining adhesive won’t come off. Please advise.

Do you think that a bag full of popcorn is worth 700 rupees? Even if every viewer takes home a bag full of popcorn each, the retail chain would still be profitable on popcorn.
