One of my oldest SIP is for the Next 50 index. It gave me negative returns for almost 2.5 years at the beginning. As of today, its XIRR is 30%. At the height of bull run last year, it was 40%+ at one point. Lol. If it's a good mutual fund, its lows are actually the best time to accumulate more. 1-2 years of accumulation are not enough for judging performance of any fund imo.

Backup doesn’t protect from data corruption / bitrot. Apple iCloud doesn’t really document if or how they address such issues but one can only hope they do. So I’d add all my long term archival data to iCloud and remove all casual files or short term use files. Typically for me, it’s what is on the Desktop and most of Documents.
