I was in a similar situation. Weighed 140 kgs after covid. Reduced 50kgs in little more than 2 years in a healthy way. I would suggest consulting a professional trainer who can help with both diet and exercise because both are important.

Me and my friend studied in a college in Salem, (we both are not native to Salem but Nagai and Chidambaram respectively) it was heaven! Since my father is no more, my brother is the one who made me join college and paid fees for it. For both of us, they never came to college except for admission time. Even for our college tour consent signature of guardian/parents, all we did was a phone call to my class incharge faculty. No conservative rules bs, opposite genders can even sit mixed if they wanted to in class hours. It's funny that a college faculty in a metropolitan city is more power tripping than one in a modest city.

This might be Mumbai specific. It's showing for me (in Hyd). Maybe the local Instamart franchises don't want to stock.
