RSUs are “free” as compared to options which you have to exercise (buy them at set price - which is usually the 409a price unless it old and something that has happened that would materially change the value of the company).

Options are kind of worse because you only make the spread between the exercise price and what you sell whereas options you make the whole sale price.

Telling you a nominal value on an RSU or option package is… well an estimate based on last round and a lot of companies will not even tell you this. But it’s a way to give you guidance on the rough current value of the comp package. It doesn’t mean you’ll get it - you could get a lot less or a lot more. It’s risky. Even in public companies you can’t predict the share price at the time the option or RSU vests.

As with anything in life, it's not black and white. I'm sorry but your take is coming off as ignorant, not sure if that was your intention or not.
Just because there are people who are empathetic towards strays and make an effort to feed the dogs doesn't mean they have the place and resources to take all the dogs home.
To your points about getting them adopted, most people don't adopt indies, how many of your friends/families have you seen having adopted indies vs. how many have you seen with breed dogs as pets? Even if NGOs or volunteers pay and get them vaccinated and spayed/neutered they still don't get adopted. There are not remotely enough animals rescue shelters in bengaluru. Whatever shelters are there are underfunded and overflowing which most times results in the shelters not being able to take permanent residents unless the animal is totally incapable of sustaining their life on the streets.
Most times the feeders you're shaming are the ones spending money out of pocket or fundraising to save the animals lives (I have too).

Govt bodies are also not very effective. Dogs are not reproducing because someone fed them biscuits, they reproduce cause they living beings. Yes india has a stray animal issue and it won't magically go away. It goes away with holding local governance accountable, it goes away with asking for better neuter and spaying programs, better animal cruelty laws and reinforcing them, better funding for animal shelters and making animal shelters.

I guess this is good opportunity to encourage people in general to support shelters and your local volunteering groups. Donate if you're able to. I understand people can't always actively partake in saving or helping stray animals, at least support people who are willing to put in that hardwork. Maybe think of it as ordering one less cup of coffee at your favourite coffee shop once in a while instead donate that money to shelters or groups who you know do good work.
