Basic Science does not give you a lucrative job just after graduation. That is why they are not that hyped. You dont hear 1Cr packages from here. But, these careers can be very good, especially if you want to pursue higher studies from foreign.

NISER,
CMI,
ISI,

these colleges have their own entrance exams which are a bit different from JEE.

Indian government also gives stipend to students who study here. These universities are renowned globally. Many students, after graduating from these universities move to foreign countries like USA, Japan, Australia and continue their research there.

You can get jobs in ISRO, DRDO, BARC etc too which do not offer that high package but offer a stable job.

AI is nowhere near to replace anyone in IT, and outsourcing jobs to Indians will be still cheaper in future compared to giving it to the AI work force (Amount of computational power required for AI to work IT will be insane). Some companies might be able to integrate the AI work force in future, but all of them won't have resources to pull that off.
