I once was in LA on a work assignment. Drove to the famous Griffith observatory one night after work and it was magical. The observatory stood on top of a hill overlooking the otherwise flat LA city.
So think of all these toursists taking in the city scape from the observatory balcony littered with a million little lights, sky scrapers far away, gentle breeze, very silent and almost meditative.

Suddenly there was this loud burst of music. Typical punjabi song, played super loud. Everyone whipped around and sure enough it was an Indian couple.

They were shooting a bloody tiktok/reel thing using the music, trying to look badass in these poses arms shit.
Multiple takes later, the annoyance in the crowd was building and me being the coward I'm, didn't confront them, and distanced myself as fast as i could so that that didn't think I'm part of the group.

I got a front seat view of why some people become racist

I have faced the same. Once a Polish guy started being nasty to me by saying "you don't even have water". I replied " we have enough water to wash our asses instead of wiping it with paper".

It's mookunnimala. We are too far from Ponmudi to see it. Any mountain u see here is all part of the western ghats. Refer an article in the Hindu daily for info, link below

What's up with fire breaking out every few weeks?

Yes Yes , We were invited for a causal group out to a party, as we were waiting in the lounge to enter the venue, a group of 2-3 well-off, rather creepy young men approached us and tried to strike up a conversation. One of them had an unsettling obsession with us ( not sure if it has to do anything with us being Tamil, as he kept repeating he finds Tamil women fascinating) and began calling his bodyguards to escort us to his reserved table.
Thankfully, we spotted a brief moment to escape and didn’t waste it—quite literally running away from them. Mind you , we spent a whole lotta money and didn’t even try to enter the party.
The whole scene was intimidating and I still avoid party’s to this date.

Wow, it’s still quite rewarding to witness this. Watching the ego sink into insignificance is the most meaningful aspect of the ending.
