As a Rajasthani linguist, I'd rather learn Gujarati, Punjabi and even Sindhi & Persian over Hindi.
Rajasthani (Marwari being the dialect of prestige and current standard dialect for Rajasthani is Bikaneri Marwari i.e. Northern Marwari) and Gujarati naturally evolved from Old western Marwari some 500 years ago. Rajasthani, Wagri and Gujarati are all three sister languages. If you learn Gujarati, it'll open gates for Old Rajasthani and Gujarati literature. I'm fluent in both Gujarati and Punjabi. People here don't realise how mind-blowingly Marwari (Western Rajasthani) has influenced all the neighbouring regions via Dingal literary tradition.
Similarities among neighbouring languages

Northern Marwari (Bikaneri & Bagri) = Malwā'ī Punjabi & Lehda Punjabi;
Western Marwari (Dhatki and Thali) = Saraiki & Sindhi;
Marwari Proper, Mewari, Malwi, Nimadi = Gujarati & Wagdi;
Nimadi = Ahirani (Khandeshi);
Malvi & Hadoti = Bundeli (Bundelkhand);
Dhundhari & Mewati = Braj Bhakha;

Fun Fact:- Rajasthani uses way more traditional and Desaj Vocabulary than Gujarati (Gujarati uses more Persian and Marathi vocabulary). Ideally Rajasthanis and Gujarati are meant to understand each other to a great extent. The major difference comes when it comes to grammar.
