Are you guys recording all these threats etc? If yes, at least girls father should go back home and you too and involve someone influential and go to police. Make police to pull him up. Make some official complaint if something happens to girl then this person should be held responsible for it. Also, add history of wrongdoings in complaint that girl faced from him till now. Better contact some good lawyer before going to police and draft a strong complaint. It seems a case of life at risk of girl clearly. Take it seriously. I pray for the safety of said girl.

It's because of lot of reasons. Statistically : because lot of Biharis and mainlanders stay here. Psychologically : people of assam seek mainlanders validation trying to impress the mainlanders. And lot of reasons with many sub branches.

Why is Mizoram not given that tag. Because they're few immigrants there. They don't seek mainland validation. They don't even learn Hindi. They don't watch most of the movies from the mainland region except comedy ones because serious movies comes with propaganda. They even dub those movies in their own mizo language. They don't imitate mainland culture whereas people in assam are starting to do garba, karva chawth etc they only celebrate Diwali if they are staying in assam as students or job. Colleges in assam do Halloween (although not real trick or treat Halloween but a dJ party Halloween ) but don't celebrate kati bihu specially private ones. Only bigger bihu festivals like bohag or magh bihu is celebrated. And most importantly they are educated and has proper civic sense whereas people in assam are starting to starting to learn degradation of civic sense thinking it's cool.

But that being said, I found the food at this year's years Adivasi Mela to be far superior than the earlier ones but the Adivasi Village showcase is a disappointment

Head to the Mayurbhanj stall and try the Letto. It's absolutely delicious and it's sad to us, gentrified individuals not giving it due. The art and craft village is a sham, although with the same artists that come every year, that have been specifically instructed to jack up their prices if they can put up a live section of them making it. Hence the Saora, Gond paintings will be selling for a much higher premium. The Sabai and Paddy handicraft though is still pretty reasonable for the effort that goes into making them
