go with your own car. some advice i’ll give you might get me downvoted but i’ll suggest things that are supposed to give you the best possible experience.
try to take the route the police doesn’t allow you to, request them. it’s generally the easy way to reach closer to the ghaat, otherwise what you could or should do is park your car, somewhere away from the main ghats, and go with e-rickshaws or autos. in my case, through a lot of jugaad, like a lot, we were able to get so close that we parked our car right in front of our aashram/camp.
The ghaat you should go to is Arail ghat. In the morning, take a boat from there to the sangam point, (the main confluence), otherwise if you only wanna bathe in where everyone does, that is easy.
