Seems like you are not aware about feminism in India and are framing opinions based on what you see on instagram. There are a number of women’s rights activists working for NGOs and also independently, they are all feminists fighting patriarchy in different ways. They work on ground level issues like child marriages, domestic violence, girls education, rehabilitation of rape and sexual assault victims etc in villages, small towns, and also cities. They have already brought a lot of change in laws and systems across the country through their continuous efforts.

Feminism takes different forms and shapes based on the social context and one lives in. Not all feminists can become activists and sacrifice their lives for the betterment of others. Speaking up against unfair or unequal treatment at an individual level is also part of feminism. The reality of women living in urban and semi urban societies is very different from the ones in rural areas. Since they already have the basic freedom, their challenges are different and hence they speak about what is relevant to them and what concerns them. It could be something like being judged shamed due to their gender for their choice of clothes or social drinking.
