First off, engineers are just tough people. We tear apart everything we see, and every individual thinks they could have/would have done it better/cleaner/more efficiently. That's easy to say when you come into the problem second.

If you're within the first couple of years of your career, try to learn from what the others are telling you. There's probably some good points in there. Also, they're probably observing the good from your design and carrying it into their own thought process. They might not be giving you credit now, but later on, they might.

Now if you're five years plus into this company... maybe the culture just isn't a fit for you. Sometimes, a company culture is always just so damn negative. It's like nothing that you do is good enough, and that's a culture problem.

Personally, I'm quite far along into my career, and I've been through some great times. I'm in a lull now where no one appreciates my work (and I'm not into it either). If I could find comparable pay, I'd jump.

I assume you understand the regulatory implications? Not trying to be a jerk here, it’s just that I do medical device systems engineering consulting, and have had fun experiences getting involved in projects where things got held up because vendors don’t have the proper certs, quality agreements weren’t set up, the device master record didn’t have good evidence of vendor control, there wasn’t a quality system in place that covered purchasing and vendor qualification, etc. Electromechanical parts are particularly challenging in this regard.
