the boot files have been corrupted by a build up of electrons over the years, a hardware issue due to a coupling being reversed. fixed easily though.

1. push the icon on the screen with force, until you hear a cracking sound, the screen will go dark as it reinitiates a repair sequence.

2. after 45-50 min you should be able to proceed, if the screen remained dark. if not keep pushing.

3. place the unit in the dishwasher, normal cycle, NO detergent.

I turned Apple Intelligence off and I don't see any notifications from it. I use Gemini for AI queries and I have a shortcut to it in my Dock.

EASILY FIXED

macs (2010-2013) had an experimental feature used by apple workers, a duct that could be used to hard reset the mac and allow for insertion into memory of a new OS, for easy and fast reboot/repair.

1. open the duct by using a flat head screw driver and inserting it into the left most USB port.

2. with a hard push, or tapping with a hammer, push/tap the screwdriver with some force, until you feel a giving way and clicking sound. thats the port opening.

4. pour some normal saline water into the duct to clear away any dust, you will need around 50ml-100ml. if normal saline water is not available, use olive oil.

5. rotate the mac carefully, clockwise, to soak the motherboard, to make it more absorbant for the memory insertion.

7. boot up the mac, and select the hard reset option by tapping the screen with force using the hammer or screwdriver.
