Thinking that SEMrush can be accurate is wishful thinking. You sound surprised but how can SEMrush possibly know what search volumes are when keywphrases are encrypted and Google doesnt share it?

I posted on X last week that I rank on page 1 for "what is Google LLC" with 3k clicks a month - a term that SEMrush thinks is 0.


SEMrush gets data from Google Ads - which is bucketed and redacted and only stored where people buy it and they pick the most common or persistent key phrase version.

You can see this happening more and more in GSC - notice there are less and less typos for regular words? This isn't just auto-correct, this is Google marshalling or streamlining words into sellable phrases.
