One major issue with immigration in Europe is that it is not selective. In the name of asylum, thousands are being allowed in. My elder cousin spent 4 years in Dusseldorf working for an IT company in the 2010's. He loved the country and has fond memories. He tried settling there but could not. Back then immigrants were not just let in.

Today, any immigrant can enter claiming asylum status. The Schengen Zone Visa is being exploited. Students from everywhere apply for obscure courses in countries like Slovenia, travel to Europe and try to settle in Germany, Italy, France etc. Most of them don't even know the local language.

EU needs to close its borders. And re-start immigration based on scholarship, economic development of home countries and business opportunities only.
