I'm a big fan of finite storyline format but not if we're lumping that in with leaps. I don't want finite story if it comes at the cost of the main couple dying tragically just so their child can be a lowly orphan perfect for being the ever suffering FL of the next gen. Thats the opposite of what I want from a finite show format. I wish producers would stop being so damn lazy and comfortable, like take a risk or two, start a new show, a new format, a new concept, ITV desperately needs it and its not true that OTT means ITV is dying, there's an audience always for good satisfying daily dramas. Whoever can pull off the revival of ITV could potentially be the next Ekta Kapoor but for that they have to stop running scared and try some new things instead of the same old sisters fighting over a man BS.
