A true gem of a place in South Mumbai. This place gets bustling from as early as 4am & there You can even witness auctions take place as boats & trawlers bring in the catch early morning.

The trawlers go far into the sea & mostly spend a couple of days before making a return back.

There are fishermen who own just one boat or multiple boats which either go out into the sea daily & just during monsoon. Trawlers make the most money, sometimes in lacs in just one outing.

Every fisherman/boat is aligned a specific part in the sea as to where they can catch fish. Depending on the fish caught, fishermen weave nets that vary in size as every species of fish needs a specific kind of netting. Nets are mainly hand weaved & take a month or two depending on manpower.
