    Have you tried posting on r/legaladviceindia ? Do it. If he’s threatening you, you can threaten him back. The reason these guys behave like this is to because no one stands up to them. This won’t ruin your career, I don’t know how big these people are who you are up against but a very established place will have their HR/legal team handle this more gracefully. They seem like insecure kids, you can fuck them back

    Yeah, take the lesson and never fall for “x occurred pay us more”. No bank in real world will tell you this, if anyone asks for more money to release money it’s a scam. Same with packages unless you go directly to the company and they say there is a fee.

    Hopefully he learns from this and it doesn’t happen again. Assume everyone online is scamming you. Research first, a simple search would have showed him thousands of Reddit posts with this exact scam.

    Sadly, and the worst part for many is there is no retrieval. You can file police report but these are usually from another country. Sorry he had to learn such a tough lesson by living through it. Oof. I hope it’s not so bad for him that he can’t recover, even if slowly.
