Well I can give my example where I was able to earn friendship of lifetime …came to my hometown Dehradun from Bangalore at the time of corona because of remote work . Started a cricket club called Mountian Men XI and started playing corporate cricket… made many awesome friends from diverse background like business, creative field, tech etc… last year made short film and was nominated in finals for India film project competition in Mumbai… also started a resort in Suwakholi Mussoorie called Echoes of the Himalayas in partnership with my friend… we do have lots of parties almost every weekend… now I am also focusing on having a tech community here so that we can solve some problems Like an AI which knows our native language like Gharwali and help others to learn etc … so if anyone have interest in movie making , writing, tech , cricket or having an Airbnb in hills you can connect to me 🙂

Born into a very liberal Hindu family that lights the lamp morning and evening. Goes to temple whenever we feel like. Goes all vegetarian on important days which probably totals to around 5 days per year. Very liberal belief in jaathakam as well.

I too said my prayers and was a mid level believer in college and early years of work, but gradually I left it. I stopped praying or having any conversation with God.
So my experience of 'leaving' has nothing to do with any reaction of family or society but it's more personal.

Me and my friend went through the same negative experience, it was so very bad it affected me physically. He was a devout believer and I was agnostic. What I observed is, his belief helped him mentally and he was more resilient. Whereas I completely crumbled and gave up. Later the situation gradually improved for him.

I now feel believers have better mental strength which takes them forward. I cannot get back to being as naive as I once was, but I'm trying to get back into praying again. It's sort of like LOA I believe. Faith helps us believe that our prayers will be heard.
