1. Trying to divide people for vote banks and distract from the politicians


2. Privatisation of healthcare. Note private company has no interest in keeping people healthy in the first place


3. Privatisation of education. Private companies/religious groups do not have education as their priority. They have no reason to educate you, as long as you keep giving money they are happy


4. Central govt is totally obsessed with Punjab, until that is sorted its very difficult to get anywhere regarding opportunities and development. After all these years a proper international airport hasn't been sorted, despite the massive numbers of people who would use it


5. So called religious leaders are very similar to politicians and just want their money/power, so also happy for people to remain uneducated and unthinking


6. Politicians who want to are unable to do anything properly because of system corruption


7. Politicans and their dealings with illegal types 


Then it becomes a vicious circle. All things stop innovation, stop progress, create division.


Solutions:
1. Critical thinking. 


2. Do your own job honestly. Encourage others to do the same. 


3. Encourage good government and police. Dont vote for chor. Question politicians


4. Get involved in politics


5. Support government schools.


6. Understand that money is a tool and not a life priority


7. Know your rights 


8. Understand this problem took years to make and will take years to fix

More than land area, the system of governing matters more. There are stark differences in how China can green light new infra projects and how India can do it. They don't have to deal with land acquisition and environmental agencies. Less red tape and bureaucracy. Don't get me wrong, I am greatful for living in a democracy but let's face it,it is damn difficult to get things done here.
