Yups ! Overall the quality has declined and in the night it's really not safe anymore especially in main roads in the sector. Me and my friends could have been a victim of a drunk / drugged person running down his thar in sector 32 a month or so ago thank God we were able to avoid it (It lead to a really big cost as we are effin scared to go out at night especially for a stroll). Some sectors and their parts have maintained their old charm and even improved in public amenities. Chandigarh is full of people who migrated here from non Punjab haryanvi places no respect for its unspoken beautiful culture that emphasizes civility. Its a shell of its former self. Yets if you are smart / flexible you can still enjoy life here with some compromises (hard if you were a long time resident) and still be thankful younare living in a planned infra with one of the nicest breathable Air in respect to same urban Places.

So it is noticeable just not to me. Happy to know.

The 1st reason isn't entirely correct. Regional cinema is still the flavour of the season and people are really watching the movies. What has waned is the so-called pan India masala blockbuster movie hype that started with bahubali. That's why movies like kanguva failed. But look at Malayalam cinema which had a stupendous performance at the box office. Movies Goat life, Aavesham, kishkindha kandam, etc have performed superbly.

IMO marketing and promotions of Odia cinema have always been this industry's weak point. Of course releasing the movie now with Pushpa ruling the theatres didn't help !
