Derawar Fort in the Cholistan Desert, Bahawalpur, Panjab Originally, the fort was known as **Dera Rawal**, named after **Rawal Deoraj**, a ruler of the Bhatti Rajput clan. Over time, the name evolved into Derawar. Derawar fort was built in **858** under the kingship of **Rai Jajja Bhati**, a Hindu Rajput ruler of the Bhati clan, as a tribute to emperor Rawal Deoraj Bhati of Jaisalmer Royal House who had his capital at Lodhruva. As a non-punjabi person, the Diljit issue, if you can even call it an issue, is not representative of a general country-wide view. It's standard issue hate by a fringe group to a successful person. Before i start, this is not a nationalism post, its more of a harmonizing post because i saw some post on my suggested talking about the hate Diljit is getting. I don't know who has to know this but as a non Punjabi, even with the limited infra in India, I loved the concert. People of non-Sikh faith also dressed up like Diljit, complete with Dastar. That's not a sign of a hater. It's a sign of someone who wants to appreciate the culture. I went in Bangalore, but... 2 0 replies

Punjab vs Panjab Since there’s a huge amount of people debating the A and the U in Punjab. I would like to clear it out using phonetics and debunk the whole thing. The “u” used in Punjab is actually the vowel sound “ʌ” in the IPA much like but, trust, under (nobody pronounces these words as boot, troost or oonder for my friends who think people might pronounce our state “Poonjab”). Panjab on the other hand will be the wrong interpretation otrect pronounciation ਪੰਜਾਬ since pan has the vowel sound “æ” as... 2 0 replies
