PDF readers cannot edit PDF correctly on MacOS
My university sent me a PDF form to fill out, which includes a table section that automatically calculates the total expenses and reimbursable expenses once numbers are entered (as shown in the figure). I tried filling it out using all kinds of PDF readers on macOS, including Preview, Chrome, PDFgear, and PDF Expert. However, none of them can do the autofill. I then attempted to complete the form on Windows using PDFgear and Foxit, and both worked perfectly. Is this caused by some system-level PDF settings that I never heard of on MacOS? Does anyone know how to let me edit PDF on MacOS properly so that I don't need to go back to my windows desktop when I need to edit a document? Thanks in advance! https://preview.redd.it/h1fk1jm4vthe1.png?width=973&format=png&auto=webp&s=6da4340d06719911d9e554373bf64d6630fa7d12 Updates: After I tried a few more times, it seems like the table in PDF can autofill properly if I only use Chrome or PDF Expert. Once I edit it with Preview or PDFgear, the table will failed to autofill no matter which software I use. I just can't understand why PDFgear works properly on Windows but failed on MacOS.1
