Good hotel or homestay for a staycation (remote work)

I'm going to a trek from 28th Dec to 2nd Jan (Prince Chowk to Prince Chowk). I'm reaching Dehradun on 25th evening and leaving on 4th Jan. I want to stay at some good place. I want a good mountain view maybe not in the main city. Also how is the transport situation like from and to the airport now? I saw a couple of posts saying that cabs have monopoly and they charge a lot. Can you please suggest some good places? Also open to suggestions on what to see and explore. Thanks 😊
