How to download new MacOs apps on older Macbook?

I would like to download an app from the App Store but I can't because I get the message: "App can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because macOS version 13 or later is required" I have a 2016 Macbook pro which only goes up to Monterey 12.7.6. I heard about using OpenCore Legacy Patcher, but I'm concerned that if I update to version 13, it will cause issues with my computer. Thoughts?
