In last 5 years, as per Department of Health and Family Welfare, Tamil Nadu census, In Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruppur, Karur, Namakkal,etc districts, dealth rate exceeds birth rate which indicates population ageing. The population is increasing because of immigration from other districts and states. But it is net negative population.
Even Kerala didn't fare this bad. Kongu region is one of the oldest population region in India. TFR hits less than 1 in Kongu. 1.4 in TN. 1.5 in KL. India avg 1.9. More no-marriage, 1 child family since 1980s...
