We need to do this by March in order to avoid a fine but we have been sent around in circles for months by various people to no avail. Has anyone done this before? Traveling for work - I need advice I am 32 year old Hispanic woman from Texas traveling to Hyderabad for work at the end of the month. Should we start using Yumnak as surnames for newborns in our family instead of Singha or Devi in Meitei culture? What are your thoughts on this? To the meitei folks here, I've been reflecting on the ongoing situation in Manipur and recent post on Roy from Arunachal. Ik mostly people from Manipur widely adopt their yumnak or sagei as surnames. I'm personally considering dropping "Singha/Devi" for the upcoming generation to show greater alignment with our pre-Hinduism roots, to better preserve our cultural identity and traditions and to be more representative of the native Meitei heritage.
