How much of these 3x1000€ do you actually need to sustain yourself (rent, food, etc?) I'd base my decision off of that. Of course, having your own machinery and really being to able to control the whole process from start to finish is fantastic (and actually a good marketing tactic for later), but if you need most of the money to actually sustain yourself, then buying machinery just for the sake of it is going to leave you worse off.

I think this is sort of where the economics come in - obviously, creating art is about creativity, and you wanna do more and to the highest quality possible, but running your own business is also about _selling stuff_. So how are you selling your designs? How are you raising awareness for your brand?

The thing is this: You can always buy machines later and increase the quality of your art and designs once you've got a good baseline of sales. But if your art doesn't really sell all that much and you can't sustain yourself with it, then buying machinery will just drill a hole into your wallet.
