Did Christian Missionaries Really Bring Education to All in India? The Truth About Gurukulas and Caste.
Not at all. “Caste” is a colonial construct, first introduced in 1871.
What you’re probably referring to is varna, our “spiritual orientation”, one that manifests as our aptitude and interests. And yes, Gurukula took people based on varna, since you not only had to have the aptitude and interests in the Sciences of knowledge traditions, you had to be motivated to commit a lifetime to its pursuit, in service of your communities, without salary and dependent entirely on bhiksa and dakshina.
This was a time when general education was vocational, with skills being passed from father to son, or mother to daughter. Meaning, you had a choice to go to the Kula of a Guru of your tradition, or remain in the Kula of your Guru. Either way, the Guru-Shishya Parampara is how knowledge was imparted.
While it's true that Brahmins dominated the field of education it wasn't intentional but that is what they used to be good at. So in turn, most of the teachers were also brahmins because that was their only vocation. But if you take Ramayana or Mahabharata for example, Lord Rama and his brothers along with the Pandavas and Kauravas were Kshatriyas but they still were given education by Maharishis. The difference was the teachings were different for them. It was not in Philosophy and Vedas but it was in Warfare and Administration.
What the Christians did was they saw an opportunity to easily convert the lower castes who felt left out by the traditional systems and targeted them for teaching their gospel and for that they also taught the relevant language. Do you think they taught modern math and science to them ? No they didn't. It wasn't until the British came along that the British education system was established after destroying our traditional system of education. -

New Driver in Mumbai – Where to Go at 2 AM for Good Food & No Traffic?
You can go to Terminal 2 and use the Mcdonald's drive-thru. The road leading to and from that side of the airport is a decent drive.
Go to Atal Setu and back. Takes about 2h round-trip if you drive sedately (and responsibly).
The cops at Marine Drive are damn annoying between 2-4am or so, I personally wouldn't bother going that side of the city and the coastal road is also shut then.
Most places are open for delivery through Swiggy or Zomato till 3am. Order through their service and take the parcel from the delivery guy in person right there when its ready. -

Why feminism in India does not address the root problems of inequality of society ??
Feminist movement was hijacked long ago by a class of elitist women who wanted to appear as equals of men in every thing: whether good or bad. So if a man smokes, they want to smoke too despite it's bad effects on health. The focus shifted from making the life of an average woman from a backward background who actually faces problems and instead feminism became the trendy word for urban women. This has become so skewed that the provisions which were meant to protect and promote women are now being weaponised as a tool of vengeance by urban women, while those women who desperately need them either don't have access to those remedies or worse, aren't even aware of them. -
