With inflation there’s less and less incentive to work. If I got paid $300k a year to flip burgers I’d do it.  But jobs pay so little by this point it’s a complete joke. People know this and they’d rather do nothing than get ripped off slaving away for crumbs

  12. Why are Indian parents so much obsessed with engineering ?

    2 months
In India the arts won’t even get you a comfortable lifestyle. There is zero point spending so much for a degree that won’t give you a decent salary.

Having said that there are areas that straddle STEM and humanities that are projected to pay Indians better salaries than IT / Engineering. These are: psychology, economics — there’s a shortage of psychologists and economists in India, international companies are paying huge amounts of money to hire them. English Language by itself or combined with business / Spanish / IT is also useful because most Indian schools don’t teach English well. You would be genuinely fluent after a good degree course in it.

    2 months
i never liked hindi. i even hated the subject in school and was so happy that i dont have hindi in intermediate (until sanskrit showed up).

But now since Hindi is everywhere, why not learn it and let it be? Whats the whole crying about languages being forgotten? who gives a Fuck about languages?

PS- i hate it when the government makes learning a language a mandatory.
